It is important to know and be able to recognise other insects and diseases that also attack maize. These will change according to the location but might include the: tobacco cutworm, beet armyworm, African armyworm, cotton bollworm, tropical armyworm, Asian corn borer, weevils, blights, and maize rusts. Write a list of all the diseases and pests that could be found in your maize crop in your region. You may need to ask local experts and farmers as well as search online for local knowledge and resources.
